Yesterday evening we had a rather special time in our Ash Wednesday service.
It was a service with a more holistic approach - the main "story" was Jesus's 40th day in thewilderness as told by the Archangel Oriel - Absolution involved the washing of hands - the imposition of Ashes was undertaken in a very moving silence & Communion was celebrated with bread where a "chunk" of bread was the only option!
But what was most moving and blessing was the state of prayer and stillness, this carried on for some considerable time after the"official" ending of the service. A "returning and rest"...
A great big thank you to the Beechcliffe group for all your help and to C & E too.
And to the one who thought to take the bowl of water and the jug to the person who couldn't get to thewater... words aren't enough...
