Saturdays are my official day off, but just of late getting a full day off has been difficult with accountancy, church and family tasks all requiring attention in unexpected ways over the past month and a half. Hence the down turn in the number of blog posts!
Today however, was one of those perfect Saturdays…
Good fun was had this morning at the climbing wall as we did our bit for red nose day – trying to climb the height of Kilimanjaro. Meanwhile A was having his climbing lesson and completed his NICAS level 1, not bad for a six year old, and it all started in NZ 2006.
A family lunch with one of Jo’s old friends was followed by a walk down to the river. Spring is daring to brake through the weather beaten Pennine landscape as the wind blew away our cobwebs (and amazingly for us the rain clouds too) and the hills got the blood pumping.
And to finish off the day - a “slungy” family TV dinner…
The general reader could be forgiven for being somewhat uninspired and bored by this post but then that’s the point, I can’t really capture the emotion and spirit of the day, how our family “ticks” or what it feels like to us, to live and be, at the end of a Pennine winter with spring on the way. Well, perhaps I could if I had the opportunity to write a book! But it is possible to imagine and think – what makes your perfect day?
Praise the Lord O my soul, praise His Holy name!
