Sue has posted a beautiful peace on Simeon's story, see here.

It reminded me of the closing words of  Vanstone's, The Stature of Waiting:

"As he (humankind) waits in the future, increasingly dependent on systems and machines, on organisation and technology, on medical support and social provision, he will in no sense be deprived of his high calling - that of standing beside God and receiving into the transforming mirror of his consciousness what the world really is. Whenever he so stands, in the future as in the past and present, man will be a figure of unique and almost unbelievable dignity." p. 115. 

The promises have, are coming, and will in the future, come true...

What a nice way to start a Monday - I received this this morning... enjoy...

The following is the philosophy of Charles Schultz, the creator of the "Peanuts" comic strip. You don't have to actually answer the questions. Just read straight through, and you'll get the point.

So why Pink Floyd and John D. Caputo?

Throughout my training the emphasis on reflection has been paramount (for good reason) and I have found myself revisiting areas of my life that I may not have otherwise chosen to do.  The concept of the self has always fascinated me, long before I professed any kind of faith and this fascination continues... 

What is "self"?   What is real and what isn't?  What is consciousness?

Read on to have  a look at Caputo's suggestions and also a little snippet of Pink Floyd lyrics to ponder upon.

Ever did something you didn't mean to do - I just did it - published my blog before I was ready, but when would I have been ready, when are any of us really ready for most of what we do in life. This reminded me of a quote from John Caputo's On Religion (page 14) which made me shudder and smile all at the same time:

"If safe is what you want, forget religion and find yourself an investment counselor"
